My Story
The University of Manchester has three core strategic goals, one of which is Social Responsibility. The University of Manchester Middle East Center focuses on actively contributing to the community of which they are a part. Since the launch of the Middle East Centre in 2006, it has actively supported several charity organisations and other social initiatives, in its pursuit to make education accessible to all. Since last year, The University of Manchester Middle East Centre has collaborated with Dubai Cares to support one of their signature initiatives ‘Adopt a School’ which aims to provide thousands of children and young people in developing countries with access to educational opportunities, globally. We aspire to build a school in Nepal in order to provide children with access to education where they can learn and flourish. The Adopt a School package comprises of school building & renovation, book supplies, provision of gender specific latrines, teacher training and adult literacy.
