About the Cause

My Story

To His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Sri Renuka Rural Development Centre (SRRDC), based in Bellary, Karnataka, has long worked to uplift marginalized women through entrepreneurship and micro enterprise programs. Building on this legacy, we are now extending our vision to empower both the transgender community and backward community children living in slum areas of Bellary district. Nearly 12,000 transgender individuals live here, yet most remain marginalized despite legal recognition of their rights. Similarly, thousands of children from backward communities in slum areas face poverty, lack of access to quality education, and social exclusion. Many are denied opportunities to learn and grow, perpetuating cycles of disadvantage. SRRDC has pioneered initiatives to change this reality: issuing ID cards to transgender persons, conducting skill training such as candle making, facilitating loans of ₹20,000 through the Women and Child Department, Our next vision is twofold: livelihood and education. We propose a Dairy Farming Unit to support 40 transgender members with shelter, dignity, and sustainable income. Alongside this, we are planning an “Adopt a School for Inclusion” initiative to create safe, inclusive learning spaces for transgender youth, backward community children, and slum area learners. We humbly appeal projects to life. Together, we can transform vulnerability into strength, ensuring dignity, livelihood, and lifelong learning.
