About the Cause

Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:

Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.

Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.

Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.

My Story

The armed conflict and terrorism in northern Mali have forced thousands of families to flee their homes, leaving children among the most vulnerable. Many have lost access to education, stability, and the chance to dream of a better future. As an organization rooted in Mali, ASRAD has witnessed the suffering of displaced children who arrive in the central regions with nothing—no school materials, no security, and no opportunity to continue their studies. Education is not just a right, it is a shield against exploitation, early marriage, forced labor, and recruitment by armed groups. By helping these children access school, we offer them protection, hope, and a path to peace. Our project seeks to enroll 1,000 displaced children for the 2025–2026 school year, providing them with full school kits, uniforms, and psychosocial support so they can thrive in their new environment. We believe every child deserves a safe place to learn, play, and grow, regardless of where they were born or forced to move. With the support of compassionate partners and donors, we can turn the tragedy of displacement into an opportunity for resilience and empowerment. Together, we can restore hope and build a brighter future for Mali’s children, one schoolbag and one classroom at a time.
