About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:
Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.
Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.
Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.
My Story
Education is one of the most powerful tools for creating opportunities and empowering communities. As an IB Middle Years Programme student, I wanted to create a Service as Action project that allowed me to contribute to a meaningful cause while involving my local community. “Bites of Hope: Baking for Education” is a student-led fundraising initiative supporting Dubai Cares and its mission to improve access to quality education for children and young people. On September 4th, 2026, I will organise a community bake sale where students and community members can come together to support this cause. Instead of collecting money directly, all donations will be made through my official Dubai Cares fundraising campaign page, ensuring transparency and allowing everyone to contribute easily. The goal of this campaign is to raise 150 AED towards supporting education-focused initiatives. Through this project, I hope to spread awareness about the importance of education and show how small actions within a community can create a positive impact. This experience will also help me develop skills in leadership, communication, organisation, and collaboration while allowing me to take meaningful action towards a global issue. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps support the belief that every child deserves access to quality education and the opportunity to build a brighter future.
