About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:
Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.
Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.
Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.
My Story
Education holds the key to achieving lasting change in the world around us and holistically empowers us to recognize the concerns of a globalized world. The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the learning journey of millions of school-going children around the world. Dubai Cares ‘Education Uninterrupted’ campaign seeks to help children of low-income families who are not equipped with the necessary ICT devices to join their peers in distance learning from the safety of their home. We are greatly inspired to support this noble cause through our fundraising campaign ‘Books For Hope’. We propose to offer books of all genres for different ages from our personal library free of cost to all those contributing towards the Dubai Cares campaign. How does this work? Step 1 – Visit the website www.BooksForHope.net to view the books available. Most books are priced at AED 2/- , AED 5/- or AED 10/- Step 2 – Select the books you want and add them to your cart Step 3 – Go to the checkout page and choose “Pay through Dubai Cares Donation” Select your mode of delivery • Direct collection (collection location will be intimated by mail) • Courier delivery to your Doorstep (courier cost of AED 15/- payable in cash on delivery. Delivery only available in UAE) Step 4 – Confirm the order and checkout An order confirmation will be set to your email and the selected books will be reserved for you. Step 5 – Go to the BooksForHope Campaign page on Dubai Cares Website and make a donation equivalent to your order value. Dubai Cares will send a donation confirmation e-mail to you. Step 6 – Send a copy of the donation email received along with your order number to [email protected] / [email protected] Step 7 – Once we receive your donation confirmation you will receive an email with collection location details or courier delivery details as per the option you selected when placing the order. Enjoy reading your books knowing that you have supported a great cause and given hope to students to continue their education.
