Women & Youth Development International (WYDI) is on a mission to give voice, justice, and opportunity to Liberia’s most vulnerable—women, youth, and persons with disabilities. Too many endure violence, poverty, and exclusion in silence. With your support, we can change that.

About the Cause

Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:

Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.

Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.

Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.

My Story

WYDI was established from the cries of women and youth in Liberia who for too long have been silenced by poverty, violence, and injustice. One woman told us she endured years of abuse without ever knowing she had the right to seek help. When she finally found WYDI, her life changed, she discovered her voice, her rights, and her power. This campaign is about reaching more women like her. It is about giving survivors of violence the support they deserve, helping young people find dignified work, and ensuring families have food on the table. It is about saying enough to systems that keep people on the margins, and building a future where women, youth, and persons with disabilities can stand tall as leaders of change. This campaign means hope. Hope that every girl can grow up safe. Hope that every young person can dream without limits. Hope that communities can rise from struggle to strength. To us, this campaign is deeply personal. WYDI was established out of lived experiences and the voices of those who demanded better. We carry their stories, their hopes, and their struggles in our work every day. Raising funds is not just about keeping our doors open, it is about keeping hope alive, expanding our reach, and ensuring that no woman, youth, or marginalized person is left behind. By supporting this campaign, you are not just donating, you are investing in justice, equality, and the possibility of a better tomorrow for Liberia’s most vulnerable communities.
