About the Cause
Poor health and nutrition negatively affect children’s school attendance and ability to learn. We implement school feeding programs that look for alternative ways to ensure sustainable supply of nutritious foods to school children and young people in urban and marginalized areas.
In addition, contaminated water and poor sanitation are big factors that result in the death of children worldwide. In our programs, we always include what is called WASH which means Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. This is done through the design and construction of child-friendly and gender sensitive facilities for sanitation, such as latrines and hand-washing stations. We also provide clean water supply by building water wells and raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.
My Story
My dad Leopoldo Gambe Tibayan JR. is my father retired in the Philippines . After so many years of hardship and sacrifices, he has been diagnosed with CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE secondary to Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) since 2011. He is also a Diabetic and has hypertension. PKD has no known cure until this time. My grandfather was diagnosed with it and due to lack of financial capacity to sustain his medical needs, eventually died in 1992. My father has been undergoing dialysis for 3 years now. Unfortunately, his kidney is not improving and is currently functioning at 4%. That means his kidneys are no longer able to work ass they should meet his body's needs people with CKD & PKD can survive days, weeks, months, years. If his kidneys stop working completely, his body fills extra water and waste products. This condition is called uremia. His hands or feet may swell. Untreated uremia may lead to seizures or coma and will ultimately result in death. His doctor has recommended him for a kidney transplant as soon as 1 donor can be found and finances are ready. This page is all about getting the finances for his continues medical bills and for his transplant. My family are not able to sustain his monthly medical needs which is about 3,300AED per month let alone fund for a transplant. He works as an irregular family driver and earning 8000PHP per month, clearly not enough to support basic and medical needs. His siblings , have tried all their best to provide.
