About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:
Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.
Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.
Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.
My Story
I have seen the faces of children who dream of becoming scientists, teachers, and inventors but whose classrooms carry no lessons about the world changing around them. In those faces, I saw both hope and silence. This campaign was born from classrooms where curious children ask why they are far from the ocean, why the rains don’t come, why rivers dry, why fish disappear. Their questions hold the weight of our shared future. Through the Climate Blue Clubs under the Africa Blue Food festival program, we are turning those questions into practical innovations. Inside each club, students plant trees, test water health, build floating solar panels, recycle plastic waste, and learn how oceans, rivers, and climate are connected to everyday life. Teachers guide them not just to imagine solutions and to design innovations that protect their homes, farms, and communities. The children are from inland and coastal schools, discovering together that climate change is not a distant topic but a story of their lives, and they can rewrite it. The inland schools are learning that, how they care for the lakes and rivers creates an effect to the ocean which later affects us all. Your support will help us reach more schools, train more teachers, fund innovations and provide learning materials that bring climate science to life in a way children can touch and believe in. When a child understands the world, they begin to change it. Help us help them learn, lead, and love their planet again.
