About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:
Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.
Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.
Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.
My Story
The climate crisis is an unprecedented storm that no other recent generation has navigate. The waves from the storm are already crashing onto the people, threatening their livelihoods. All youth are all at the forefront, as they will be living through the destabilizing impacts. Not much is being done to educate the 50,000 K-12 youth across Africa on this issue. The Project Project educates & empowers youth for climate action & amplifies their voices. This project aims to teach the root causes of the climate crisis & encourage students to use ancestral wisdom to keep humanity moving forward. Island kids need tools to connect to each other, strengthen the canoe’s hull and interweave a sail, to overcome the storm. Pacific wisdom has vital lessons for our collective human family. As we are all one crew on this One boat, we know as Earth. Boat project nurtures young people to love nature and be environmentally conscious at a young age. The solution is being implemented through tree planting and a green eco-project(bushland) corner family or school model. The model contains a mini tree nursery, a green fence surrounded by indigenous trees, waste management, and 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) corner, a food forest full of mixed species of fruit trees, and a green bushland garden open for education and recreation for school children. Boat project is a patch of bush or other green space’ adopted’ by a family, school or community to monitor, grow, and protect.
