About the Cause
My Story
The number of South Sudanese refugees in neighboring countries also varies. For instance, in Uganda, as of 2025, the number of South Sudanese refugees has reached 1 million, making it the African country that hosts the largest number of South Sudanese refugees. In Sudan, as of June 2025, the number of South Sudanese refugees has exceeded 260,000, mainly distributed in refugee camps in states like White Nile, East Darfur, West Kordofan, and Khartoum. In Ethiopia, there are around 320,000 South Sudanese refugees, with new arrivals initially taking shelter in temporary shelters on the banks of the Gambela region before being transferred to Matar and Moon regions for assistance. In Kenya, about 90,000 South Sudanese refugees have arrived, causing the expansion of Kakuma refugee camp by almost half between late 2013 - 2015.In addition, the ongoing conflict in Sudan has also had a significant impact on South Sudan. Since the outbreak of the Sudanese conflict in April 2023, more than 770,000 people have entered South Sudan through Wanzo on the border between northern South Sudan and Sudan. Among the 1 million people who have arrived in South Sudan, many are South Sudanese nationals who previously fled.My decision to donate tents as temporary shelters for South Sudanese refugees is incredibly noble and impactful !
