About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:
Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.
Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.
Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.
My Story
With the intent to develop better India, our founder Lt. Shri Jeevat Ram ji Sharma, BABUJI focussed on education as a primary tool and established Rajasthan Bal Kalyan Samiti (RBKS) in 1981. From a rented school premise and 17 students to 53 institutions/centre and 25409 students and 5 Districts direct & indirect beneficiaries from various multi-layered programs the journey was never easy. From generating funds to awareness among community to winning their trust every challenge needed strenuous efforts and Babuji was the source of infinite energy. He is a role model not only for RBKS team but also for each and every one he connected with. He began his (RBKS) journey by paying from his pocket and dedicated his entire life for upliftment of deprived communities even on his last day he worked whole day and visited 8 schools. His compassionate and kind-heartedness made him Babuji (Father) for everyone around, he always been available to offer support and guidance who so ever approached him. Following his path and wisdom his elder son Mr. Girija Shankar Sharma dedicated his life to RBKS. This campaign is of greater importance to us because it will provide direct help to our students who want to study but are unable to pay for it, or continue it because of financial and personal reasons. It is thus our responsibility as an organization to provide benefit to these tribal students who can further achieve something in life by gaining education.
