About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:
Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.
Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.
Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.
My Story
The fundraising campaign is for education of students from low income family. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, many workplace closed and many low income parents whose jobs situation were already unstable, lost their jobs or had reduced hours and pay. Those experiences impacted the family ecosystem including children education. The balancing act that parents have to do is challenging enough for financially stable families, but low-income families may have to choose between making rent, buying groceries or paying fees for their education. This situation led many children to discontinue the education. By seeing this we started to support student’s education through our scholarship program. Now the schools & colleges have re-opened the students of private school and colleges are forced to pay the fees. Many students have not paid their fees due to which the children’s educations are getting affected (Institutions not allowing them to write exams) and they are losing their interest to go to school/college. Parents are also in a helpless situation. So, this support will help student to continue their education without interruption. For the academic year 2022, we have 191 students waiting to receive scholarship support to pursue their education. Your contribution will definitely impact the life of an individual.
