About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:
Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.
Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.
Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.
My Story
Identity documents are a prerequisite to acquiring formal education. Khel provides a platform to those children who cannot access education to be part of quality informal education, recreation, and development through sports via qualified teachers and coaches. Khel is also inclusive with its intake taking into consideration not only stateless children but also those that belong to the marginalized host community. A haven, a space trusted by families to secure the learning, growth, development, and protection of their children, Khel uses a holistic approach to child development, with a focus on addressing the individual physical, mental & emotional needs of children's. Respecting children’s individuality, encouraging creativity, and supporting every child to make the most of their abilities are the key objectives. Khel creates impact through its objectives ● Providing a safe and secure environment to children of stateless and host communities ● Support schooling, sports as well as vocational training amongst youngsters ● Creating a learning space that leads to possible admission in mainstream schools. ● Cultivate positive attitude, character building and a sense of responsibility amongst children ● Create awareness regarding health, and hygiene inclusive of mental health. ● Reduce incidences of violence and drug abuse. ● Educate children about human rights ● Promote equality of opportunity for all, irrespective of gender, race, ethnicity, creed, ability or disability.
