About the Cause

Gender equality is a cross-cutting theme in all Dubai Cares’ education programs with an approach that aims to secure equal access for boys and girls to safe learning environments with adequate facilities, materials and academic support from gender sensitized teachers and communities.

My Story

The Pakistan Chemical and Energy Sector Skill Development Company (PCESSDC) is a non-profiting Private Public Partnership Company registered Under Pakistan Companies Act Section 42 of 1984, to provide technical education to the country’s growing rural Population. Education and skills training are key to unlocking opportunities for all young people, but especially important for girls who are at greater risk of being left behind in many developing countries. The program PCESSDC proposes is very ‘hands on’, using a mixture of classroom teaching, participation of prominent business people as role models, and practice at starting a business. By increasing opportunities for girls to make life choices that go beyond gender-limiting cultural norms, as often seen in education, these trades can help to create an environment in which female entrepreneurs can thrive, thereby promoting gender equality.
