About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:
Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.
Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.
Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.
My Story
The story follows a group of passionate young Jordanian women who are leading the charge towards environmental justice in their country. After attending a lecture by a Nobel laureate on the impact of climate change, they decide to take matters into their own hands and start a platform to educate and engage people on environmental issues. It is the first environmental community group in Jordan led by women from Jordan and has recently grown to include females from Jordan. It was established in the rural city of Ajloun at the end of 2019, where environmental awareness was almost non-existent, and it developed to be members of the founding team from the governorates of Irbid, Amman and Jerash as well. We aspired to change this statement across the country by creating a team of females who share a passion for protecting our fragile planet, striving to be the voice of women in the fields of sustainability and the environment. 8 female engineers working in different fields and sectors of the environment, and because there is no single voice that presents environmental content from the local women’s point of view in Jordan, in addition to our interest in environmental issues and our desire to improve the environmental situation, we strive to bring about change in our region by spreading in the governorates of the Kingdom and spreading environmental awareness about The path of sustainable and promising green projects.
