About the Cause

Dubai Cares is a UAE‑based global philanthropic organization working to provide children and youth in developing countries with access to quality education.

Feed A Child, Build A Kitchen is Dubai Cares’ Ramadan fundraising campaign that supports school meals through community kitchens, helping children learn, creating dignified livelihoods, and strengthening local food systems in a sustainable way.

Kicking off in Kenya’s Embu County, where classroom hunger remains a major barrier to education, each community kitchen will provide 76,000 nutritious meals annually to 400 early learners across 21 rural schools, helping children arrive at school ready to learn. Beyond nutrition, each kitchen will create approximately 164 local jobs, mostly for women, support local farmers through local sourcing, reduce environmental impact through clean energy solutions, and offer a scalable model for strengthening education systems and communities across Sub‑Saharan Africa.

My Story

Feed a Child. Build a Kitchen. Dubai Cares, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is dedicated to improving access to quality education by addressing barriers such as child nutrition. In partnership with Food 4 Education, Mace International is supporting the “Adopt a Community Kitchen” initiative in Kenya—a programme designed to provide reliable, nutritious meals to young children while strengthening local communities. Your support will help build a centralised community kitchen serving 400 children (ages 3–6) across 21 rural schools, delivering over 76,000 meals annually. This initiative is expected to increase school attendance by up to 10%, helping children stay healthy, focused, and ready to learn. The programme also creates 164 local jobs (over 80% held by women) and supports more than 5,000 smallholder farmers, ensuring a strong, inclusive local economy. Eco-briquette cookstoves will reduce carbon emissions and fuel costs by nearly 50%, making the initiative environmentally sustainable. With a total funding requirement of AED 182,000, this programme goes beyond feeding children—it empowers communities, supports education, and drives long-term change. Be part of the impact—help nourish futures through education.
