About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:
Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.
Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.
Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.
My Story
Hi, my name is Ariana, and I am a high school student. Witnessing people, unable to feed their children properly, worrying about their families, financially deprived, has always left a soft spot in me. We know what happens in these people's lives, and we do say that we will help, but do we really? A one-time donation is not enough. We're all so busy with our lives, with jobs or studying, and some people just worry about the extravagant items they want, but don't hearts deserve more care? I genuinely want to provide aid to those living a life, a complete antithesis of our own. Especially for the elderly, who have been living without their children, lonely, yet strong, and to the little kids, dreaming of a happy future. Children are such innocent, special beings, and they deserve to play, laugh, smile, enjoy, and learn good things, without experiencing any stress over what they don't have in their lives It's hard to imagine what they're tough lives are like especially when you haven't experienced them, but for spreading goodness, for being a better human being and a better Muslim, I decided to set up a club in my school, the A&A Foundation, to try to volunteer and fundraise, to encourage other people, and myself, to play a role too. Let's keep reminding ourselves to help others.
