About the Cause

Poor health and nutrition negatively affect children’s school attendance and ability to learn. We implement school feeding programs that look for alternative ways to ensure sustainable supply of nutritious foods to school children and young people in urban and marginalized areas.

In addition, contaminated water and poor sanitation are big factors that result in the death of children worldwide. In our programs, we always include what is called WASH which means Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. This is done through the design and construction of child-friendly and gender sensitive facilities for sanitation, such as latrines and hand-washing stations. We also provide clean water supply by building water wells and raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.

My Story

Adolescent is defined by the as those between the ages of 10 and 19 number 1.2 billion in the world today make up to 16 percent of the worlds population (UNICEF 2019). Adolescences refers to a transitional stage of physical and psychological development that generally occurs during period from puberty to legal adulthood. Adolescence is a period during which children undergo significant physical growth and sexual maturation. Nutrition plays an important role during this transition period as it determines the overall growth of the adolescents. Studies suggest that inadequate nutrition during adolescence may lead to severe health issues during adulthood and may impair the productivity of people. Nutrition plays a very important role both mental and physical health of individuals. Women in particular face issues such as malnutrition, lack of maternal health, disregard for mental health, breast cancer and domestic violence among others. In most developing nations women's health and nutrition topics are de prioritized over those of male members of the household. Malnutrition would often result in ill health and reduction of the ability to work and thus economic losses for the families and communities. Those impacts can be felt over the entire life of an individual and especially in adolescent women once they reach the child bearing age. The effect could cascade over the next few generations as well causing health related issues to be prevalent in the families.
