About the Cause
Poor health and nutrition negatively affect children’s school attendance and ability to learn. We implement school feeding programs that look for alternative ways to ensure sustainable supply of nutritious foods to school children and young people in urban and marginalized areas.
In addition, contaminated water and poor sanitation are big factors that result in the death of children worldwide. In our programs, we always include what is called WASH which means Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. This is done through the design and construction of child-friendly and gender sensitive facilities for sanitation, such as latrines and hand-washing stations. We also provide clean water supply by building water wells and raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.
My Story
My mom inspired me to come up with this idea. I love baking and i always wanted to make something different for her. Every time i saw her getting sick over luck of proper diet it made me sad. Mu mom has type 2 diabetes, and of the severe type. She needed to have a strict proper diet. But living in a small country in Africa, there isn't any safe diet choice for her. Thus i was dedicated to open a bakery and mini supermarket only for the diabetic people. But i had to leave my country before i was able to do that and here I am 3 years later in dubai still figuring out how to do that. The sad part is, over the past 3 years my 4 older siblings were diagnosed with diabetes. I feel bad about not being able to help. I know if I'm able to change their lifestyle and diet habits, it would have a great impact on their lives. This is just the story of my family, and I'm sure there are thousands and millions of people who are going through the same experience, and are looking for guidance. I hope we will be able to reach out to those in need and make an impact in their lives.
