About the Cause

Poor health and nutrition negatively affect children’s school attendance and ability to learn. We implement school feeding programs that look for alternative ways to ensure sustainable supply of nutritious foods to school children and young people in urban and marginalized areas.

In addition, contaminated water and poor sanitation are big factors that result in the death of children worldwide. In our programs, we always include what is called WASH which means Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. This is done through the design and construction of child-friendly and gender sensitive facilities for sanitation, such as latrines and hand-washing stations. We also provide clean water supply by building water wells and raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.

My Story

When our son was born, we were overjoyed and excited to start our new life as parents. However, our joy was short-lived when we discovered that our son was unable to take in enough nutrients orally. We were devastated by this news because we knew that our son needed proper nutrition to survive and thrive. After several consultations with a pediatric gastroenterologist, we were informed that our son needed Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) support. TPN is a form of nutrition that is delivered directly into the bloodstream through a vein. This treatment is often used when a patient is unable to tolerate oral feedings. It was difficult to see our baby connected to tubes and machines, but we were determined to give him the best care possible. We soon got used to the routine, and things started to get easier. Our son's health improved significantly, and we were thrilled to see him gaining weight and meeting his developmental milestones. However, we soon realized that the cost of TPN supplies was exorbitant. We were struggling to make ends meet and could not afford the expensive equipment and supplies on our own. We tried to reach out to various organizations, but most of them did not provide support for TPN supplies. We were at a loss, and we did not know what to do. We were worried about our son's health and well-being, and we did not want to compromise his care. We were desperate for help, and we knew we had to find a solution quickly.
