My Story
We are raising funds to help build and operate a school in Cambodia, South-East Asia. The Mace Foundation (UK registered charity 1150134) has donated £20,000 (approx. AED 104,242) to kick start our fundraising efforts and will further support our efforts via it’s match funding programme. We will be encouraging Mace people; employees, clients, supply chain partners, family and friends to support us in our fundraising efforts by taking part in challenges or simply making a donation to our campaign page. Collectively we need to raise a total of AED 180,000 to help build and operate the school. These funds will help build a 3-4 classroom school, built to national regulatory standards and furnished with whiteboards, desk and chairs, basic accommodation for two teachers, a library resourced with national language books, a well to provide safe drinking water to the school and toilets with hand washing areas for students. The whole local community will benefit from the new school. Our first fundraising event took place in April where a team of Mace cyclists took part in Spinneys Dubai 92 cycling challenge, they raised AED 10,000. We know first-hand how successful Dubai Cares Adopt a School initiative works as in 2019/20 we helped to build and operate a school in Malawi, south eastern Africa. Today, 1,164 children receive classes at the school, and it is used in the evenings for adult literacy classes.
