About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:
Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.
Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.
Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.
My Story
At Uganda Youth Skills Training Organization (UYSTO) over 70 youths and women are trained in technical skills, initiatives formation and availed with start up support in different kinds appropriately. The training infrastructure is a big challenge and we therefore request your support in putting up the training infrastructure to achieve our vision " accelerating, transforming and stimulating a broad based economic developed nation, Uganda" We are currently training most disadvantaged youths and women in Carpentry, tailoring, Knitting, Automotive mechanics, Driving, Music dance and Drama, ICT, entrepreneurship, electrical installation and shoe works and crafts. Our main challenge is limited space, a big number of both youth and women yarn for our services but have small accommodation space and no expansion space since we renting. UYSTO is one of the organizations in Uganda training and directly supporting its finalists with start up support and follow up for a period of two years, but we are overwhelmed by the numbers who yearn for our services, so with your support, we believe we can make it. The support needed is to secure the space and put up the training infrastructure, which will include: Purchasing land, construction materials, architectural drawings and construction labour. Renting for offices and training workshops and classes is rely hectic for us at the organization.
