About the Cause

Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:

Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.

Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.

Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.

My Story

The United Arab Emirates is more than a thriving nation—it is a symbol of unity amidst diversity. It stands as a home where people from over 200 nationalities coexist, yet, within this rich tapestry, there lies a silent yearning among children to truly belong. In classrooms and playgrounds, young minds are forming their identities, often absorbing influences from around the globe. While this global mosaic is a beautiful reality, many children—especially expats—miss the opportunity to genuinely connect with the Emirati culture, values, and narratives that define the land they call home. This project seeks to fill that gap. We aim to bring the stories of The Legend of the Flag and the Nation, The Tale of Aisha and the Desert Camel, The Threads that Remember, and The Calligrapher’s Secret into the hands and hearts of children across the UAE. These stories are more than just tales—they are bridges. They invite children to step into the shoes of characters who embody values such as resilience, loyalty, creativity, and community. These Stories Matter. Cultivating Cultural Literacy: These stories introduce children to the pillars of Emirati heritage—from the symbolism of the national flag to the history embedded in calligraphy. They offer children context, understanding, and respect for the values and traditions that shaped the country. Fostering Emotional Connection:Whether it’s Aisha’s bond with her camel or the threads linking generations through memory and identity, these narratives instill empathy and belonging. They offer expat children a window into the culture around them—and Emirati children a mirror reflecting their roots. Building Identity and Belonging:A strong sense of identity is crucial to emotional well-being. These stories gently guide children to feel proud of who they are and where they live, shaping their voice and grounding their self-expression in authenticity. Integrating Multilingual Accessibility: The vision is to be published in both Arabic and English, these books honor the UAE’s linguistic diversity while protecting the richness of the Arabic language. They become shared touchstones across classrooms, homes, and communities. Supporting this campaign means more than putting books on shelves—it means creating: Pathways to Lifelong Learning: Stories are the first window into history, culture, and imagination. By making them accessible, we nurture curiosity, encourage empathy, and support the development of meaningful relationships with culture. Social Cohesion and Understanding: When children learn stories together, they grow with shared values. This campaign helps foster unity in a multicultural society by grounding children in the shared heritage of their shared home. This campaign serves as a small, powerful way to ensure that as the world around us evolves, we can keep tradition beating in the imaginations of children. With Dubai Cares’ Education Uninterrupted initiative, we have a chance to create something lasting—something beyond classrooms or digital platforms. A set of books that children can hold, revisit, and treasure. Stories that become part of their personal and cultural journey. With your support, we will publish these stories in paperback and distribute them across schools, libraries, shelters, and community centers—places where every child deserves access to soul-enriching literature. We envision workshops, reading circles, and school heritage days built around these narratives. Because every child deserves stories that reflect their world. Every child deserves a place in the story.
