About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:
Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.
Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.
Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.
My Story
We deserve a world where every child flourishes Covid-19 is a global challenge, however imagine what it has done to families in communities surviving on less than 1$ daily? In reality, schools have started reporting back in Uganda, though majority of the students have failed to report back due to financial constraints in such families. Me and you can Help Not only students, but also most schools most especially those in rural areas, have failed to resume. With a few that tried failing to fully run all their activities and thus have been to forcefully adopt the “activity prioritization” and decided to lay off some staff or leave out some activities. As family innovation technologies, we choose to empower children, parents, and guardians with Education, skills and resources needed to take up productive livelihoods and employment opportunities within their communities. In fact, majority of the few rural schools we have visited, failed to maintain their computer labs. FamITech solutions has offered to maintain computer labs and further more implement their low cost software system, that simplifies activity flow in schools like managing student academic records. Thus it’s for this cause that we seek your support in reaching out to help these students and schools. We seek to effectively purchase computers for schools that don’t have, setup, and maintain computer labs that will aid students in learning virtually. We deserve a world where every child flourishes.
