About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ Walk for Education is a symbolic three kilometer walk that aims to highlight one of the challenges children face in acquiring quality education in developing countries where they have to walk an average of three kilometers every day in order to go to school. We have so far organized 10 editions of the “Walk for Education”
My Story
We have identified and providing supports through networking, creating awareness and training for a number of children with special needs to get education services in the mainstream schools. This programme will empower and train parents while training the children. This programme caters to children who are not able to access rehabilitation services like special education, physiotherapy, communication therapy on a daily basis. This project is based on three aspects mentioned as follows: E- learning Training- Community Based Rehabilitation- Day Care Center for Special Needs Children & Adolescent- Training of parents and care givers Networking with Hospitals and other support centers Point wise need of the project: • There are not any single training/ special schools/therapy centers within this area- • Lack of knowledge guardians could not understand their children problems- • Untrained guardian and care givers are unable to train their those Special Needs children- • Schools does not have proper infrastructures, knowledge and Special educators to train those CWSN- • Therapy/training/treatment are very costly for those poor rural guardians- Major outcome and benefit expected out of the proposed project: Primarily 55 Special Need Children will be admitted: Larger community, Parents & Care givers will be train along with children; Govt Deptt will be engage: Program activities will spread over the Hooghly District of W.B, India:
