About the Cause
Poor health and nutrition negatively affect children’s school attendance and ability to learn. We implement school feeding programs that look for alternative ways to ensure sustainable supply of nutritious foods to school children and young people in urban and marginalized areas.
In addition, contaminated water and poor sanitation are big factors that result in the death of children worldwide. In our programs, we always include what is called WASH which means Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. This is done through the design and construction of child-friendly and gender sensitive facilities for sanitation, such as latrines and hand-washing stations. We also provide clean water supply by building water wells and raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.
My Story
I am Malka mother of Minuli Akelya, I am a class assistant at the Kent college and my husband is Team leader of housekeeping at the Kent college. My baby was with high fever the last two weeks of March we took her to the clinic close to my house and paediatric advice to do some blood test on her and the results showed that her wbc is less and we were advised to admit her hospital As soon as possible since it can be an infection. My baby was born in Dubai we have applied for her passport and still waiting for it to apply for residency in Dubai, she does not have and Emirates ID or a medical insurance yet, so we decided to take to the Al Jalila children’s speciality hospital since it will be cheaper. Minuli was admitted to the hospital on the 1st of April 2023 and was discharged on the 11th of April 2023 the hospital bill came to 53,628.77AED and we are unable to pay for it as we are not earning much the hospital released us by giving us period of 2 months to pay the bill. So many blood test and scans was done they couldn’t find out what was wrong with my baby only with symptoms the doctors said that it’s the Kawasaki Disease and it has spread all over the body and even to her brain she was swollen other symptoms as well. she is back home but still on medication and have to continue for another 2 weeks and go for checkups again to see if she is improving after the medication. Both of us as Minuli’s parents ask your kind help on helping us pay her hospital bill. Thank You.
