About the Cause
Poor health and nutrition negatively affect children’s school attendance and ability to learn. We implement school feeding programs that look for alternative ways to ensure sustainable supply of nutritious foods to school children and young people in urban and marginalized areas.
In addition, contaminated water and poor sanitation are big factors that result in the death of children worldwide. In our programs, we always include what is called WASH which means Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. This is done through the design and construction of child-friendly and gender sensitive facilities for sanitation, such as latrines and hand-washing stations. We also provide clean water supply by building water wells and raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.
My Story
My name is Ayaan. I am a 16-year-old, Indian American High School Student. Every year, my family and I travel to Bhopal, a small city in India. When I was young, I never really understood the concept of poverty and the difficulties that people had to face in developing countries. As I have gotten older, I have become more perceptive to the realities of the world and how many, if not most people in the world do not have the opportunities that have been given to me. In my last two trips to Bhopal, the monsoon season was very harsh, the lightning was turning on the lights in the house and the roof felt like it would cave in. I am trying to start clubs throughout Asia in order to help those affected by monsoons, especially those who are unfortunate. In the UAE, I am trying to raise money for those affected by monsoons through the Dubai Cares organization. Please donate however much you are able.
