About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:
Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.
Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.
Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.
My Story
My Story Losing my father at a very young age left a profound void in my life; I grew up longing for a father I never got to know. This personal pain ignited a lifelong dream to study the Sociology of Development to protect orphaned, vulnerable children, and young girls. Although life redirected my academic path toward a degree in Geography Teaching, I embraced my role as an educator, knowing it was a powerful vehicle to serve and transform lives. Over time, my desire to provide tangible, physical support grew, leading me to found Associação África Tambor—a symbolic 'drum' calling for inclusive education across Africa and the world. Our mission took root when we supported a young girl who was completely excluded from the educational system. Experiencing her successful inclusion opened the doors to creating 'Soletra na Dança' (Spell through Dance) in the Rapale district. This innovative methodology breaks standard classroom rigidity by merging foundational literacy with traditional rhythm, storytelling, and dance, accelerating learning for vulnerable children. To ensure the sustainability of this vision, I certified myself in Project Management and Fundraising. Partnering with Dubai Cares is the realization of a lifelong journey. It bridges our deep local cultural roots with scalable digital innovation, allowing me to do my part globally so that no child has to face the isolation of vulnerability alone.
