About the Cause
Poor health and nutrition negatively affect children’s school attendance and ability to learn. We implement school feeding programs that look for alternative ways to ensure sustainable supply of nutritious foods to school children and young people in urban and marginalized areas.
In addition, contaminated water and poor sanitation are big factors that result in the death of children worldwide. In our programs, we always include what is called WASH which means Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. This is done through the design and construction of child-friendly and gender sensitive facilities for sanitation, such as latrines and hand-washing stations. We also provide clean water supply by building water wells and raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.
My Story
I am Malka mother of Minuli Akiliya, she is 5 months old. I am an assistant teacher for Kent college and my husband is a cleaner for the Kent college, our baby was with high fever the last two weeks of March we took her to the clinic close to my house and they did a blood test on her, from that result they found out that her wbc was low and they asked us to admit the baby to a hospital As soon as possible since it can be an infection. My baby was born in dubai we have applied for her passport and still waiting for it to apply for her residency in Dubai. She don’t have Emirates ID or an insurance so we had to find a government hospital to treat her and we took her to Al Jalila Children’s speciality hospital and she was in the hospital for 11 days the doctors did blood test and they couldn’t find out what was wrong with my baby with all the blood test and with the symptoms they said it’s Kawasaki disease and it has spread everywhere in the body even to her brain she was discharged yesterday 11th of April 2022 she yet on medication, the hospital bill came to 53,628.77AED we have no money to pay this amount as myself and my husband does not earn much we explained it to the hospital and they released us giving us a period of 2 months to pay this amount, on top of this we do have to take our baby for check up and to do scans as well on her to see if she is improving. A kind help for my baby for her to be back to normal and active. I have attached the hospital documents below
