About the Cause
Poor health and nutrition negatively affect children’s school attendance and ability to learn. We implement school feeding programs that look for alternative ways to ensure sustainable supply of nutritious foods to school children and young people in urban and marginalized areas.
In addition, contaminated water and poor sanitation are big factors that result in the death of children worldwide. In our programs, we always include what is called WASH which means Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. This is done through the design and construction of child-friendly and gender sensitive facilities for sanitation, such as latrines and hand-washing stations. We also provide clean water supply by building water wells and raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.
My Story
My name is Mariam Honaine, I was born in Kuwaiti Hospital in 1971, I am currently 49 years old. I started my career in 1996 in Dubai. Everything was alright until March 2020 where due to the COVID-19 pandemic impacted my career and monthly income. My company was impacted finanically (Al Holding Group) and could not afford to continue paying our salary. We were only getting partial salaries which affected me badly. I now cannot afford my car rental, house rental, bank debts and sadly my father's medical expenses. I had to leave the UAE to Lebanon to cut expenses. I was searching for jobs to find in the UAE and every job I applied to got rejected. Recently, the UAE restricted issuance of employment visas for Lebanese nationalities. I am currently blocked from employment, travel with high liability to the bank and credit card. I lost all my savings in Lebanon bank due to the inflation, black market, political situation and the crisis the country is currently going through. My bank has started to take action and I am no longer able to work, generate income, pay the medical expenses of my father. I need to raise funds to pay off my loan which is 270,000 AED and increasing and can no longer pay my monthly medical expenses for my father.`
