About the Cause

Poor health and nutrition negatively affect children’s school attendance and ability to learn. We implement school feeding programs that look for alternative ways to ensure sustainable supply of nutritious foods to school children and young people in urban and marginalized areas.

In addition, contaminated water and poor sanitation are big factors that result in the death of children worldwide. In our programs, we always include what is called WASH which means Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. This is done through the design and construction of child-friendly and gender sensitive facilities for sanitation, such as latrines and hand-washing stations. We also provide clean water supply by building water wells and raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.

My Story

The most vulnerable Kenyans, women and adolescent girls, continue to be marginalized, locked in a cycle of poverty and chronic vulnerability. Inevitable consequences are poor health, falling short of formal education, and lack of access to economic opportunity. DeckerMed Africa Trust has defined Neglected Women’s Diseases (NWDs) among vulnerable populations and recognizes their prevalence in Kenya. Women in these communities suffer from a cluster of diseases that are at once preventable and curable, with life-altering consequences .This observation highlighted a critical need for accessible and specialized healthcare services. We have a dedicated program for NWD where we operate 60 Outreach Clinics annually in Kenya for Neglected Women’s Diseases. We assess, treat, and refer women with urinary infection, pelvic inflammatory disease, breast lump, prolapse uterus, cataracts, myoma and cervical dysplasia . We counsel and refer women with the stigma of obstetric fistula and genital mutilation. All patients are screened and for treated gratis. Through your support we shall be able to expand our camps to many regions in Kenya. We shall also be able to afford screening tools for cervical and breast cancer. Nine Women die daily in Kenya due to cervical cancer, in our camps we support preventive care where we screen women from age 18 and above or cervical cancer. The funds will also be key in helping to support treatment for women diagnosed with breast and cervical cancers.
