About the Cause
Poor health and nutrition negatively affect children’s school attendance and ability to learn. We implement school feeding programs that look for alternative ways to ensure sustainable supply of nutritious foods to school children and young people in urban and marginalized areas.
In addition, contaminated water and poor sanitation are big factors that result in the death of children worldwide. In our programs, we always include what is called WASH which means Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. This is done through the design and construction of child-friendly and gender sensitive facilities for sanitation, such as latrines and hand-washing stations. We also provide clean water supply by building water wells and raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.
My Story
Honduras, Central America; with more than 2.9 million inhabitants in extreme poverty; being one of the poorest countries in Latin America; we find a group of 80 children in deplorable conditions of nutrition and health; the Eduardo Martinez school; located in a mountainous area of Siguatepeque, Honduras: The more than 80 children approximately with enormous nutritional and health needs require cooperation; the solidarity of the donors will be providing for the school year 2023 daily food and covering the costs of transportation of volunteer medical brigades and vitamin supplements. This campaign will be of vital importance for the development and growth of each child; the situation in this community is alarming; to develop this mechanism we will coordinate the citizen participation of each mother, executing a work schedule and being inclusive with the entire community in search of lasting solutions. The hope and strength of each child we met was wonderful; the desire to excel and achieve each of their goals led us to seek through this campaign an opportunity to progress with solidarity.
