About the Cause
Gender equality is a cross-cutting theme in all Dubai Cares’ education programs with an approach that aims to secure equal access for boys and girls to safe learning environments with adequate facilities, materials and academic support from gender sensitized teachers and communities.
My Story
According to the global slavery index, which estimates that there are 3.1 million slaves worldwide, a significant portion of them being Persecuted Christian Children, Pakistan is ninth on the list. The women and children are notoriously held as slaves in Pakistan's. They take out loans or cash advances to pay for hospital bills or to obtain rations because they are poor and in need. In exchange, not only adults but children's are instructed to labor on brick kilns until they can pay back the loan. They and future generations will continue to be in debt as the amount they owe rises and becomes unmanageable. The young girls and boys are instructed to work on brick kilns in exchange until they can pay back the loan for their family. The Smyrna School System was established out of the need to educate and provide for the young children especially girls whose parents are slaves to debt. The primary goal of the Smyrna School system is to protect children from trafficking, malnutrition, and enslavement. By the generosity of our donors, we look for their food, education, and general well-being. The goal of Smyrna School is to provide the best education and nutrition possible to women, children, and orphans who are twice marginalized. With your donation we will be able to impact 200 girls. Any and all support is greatly appreciated. Together we can continue making our school an environment of excellence for our kids. Thank you for being a part of our story.
