My Story

Our little boy Zaid is fighting a cruel disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a progressive genetic disorder that slowly takes away a child’s ability to walk, move, and eventually even breathe independently. Zaid is only a child, full of dreams, laughter, and innocence. But day after day, we are watching him lose his strength. Simple things that other children do without thinking are becoming harder for him with each passing moment. As parents, there is nothing more painful than seeing your child slowly lose his ability to move while knowing that time is critical. There is hope. A treatment called Elevidys — currently the only available therapy for his condition — can help slow the progression of this devastating disease and give Zaid a chance for a better future. The treatment is available in the UAE, but its cost is far beyond what our family can afford alone. Doctors have made it clear that early treatment is extremely important.
