About the Cause
Gender equality is a cross-cutting theme in all Dubai Cares’ education programs with an approach that aims to secure equal access for boys and girls to safe learning environments with adequate facilities, materials and academic support from gender sensitized teachers and communities.
My Story
Measures and activities The project seeks to implement two major interventions; 1) facilitate the re-entry of girls and teenage mothers into school and 2) promote vocational skills training as an alternative for girls and teenage mothers who have dropped out of school. ▫ Intended results The project will make it possible for drop-out girls and teenage mothers to return to basic school and obtain their Basic Education Certificate which will make it possible for them to access secondary education. Overall, 100 drop out girls will be supported to return to school. This will increase their chances of better life outcomes in gaining dignified employment in future. The project will also contribute to the vocational skills training of 100 teenage mothers who may not be able to return to school. Through this initiative the teenage mothers will be empowered with employable skills for gainful employment and will also receive entrepreneurship skills to launch their businesses so they can earn an income to support themselves and their families.
