About the Cause
Poor health and nutrition negatively affect children’s school attendance and ability to learn. We implement school feeding programs that look for alternative ways to ensure sustainable supply of nutritious foods to school children and young people in urban and marginalized areas.
In addition, contaminated water and poor sanitation are big factors that result in the death of children worldwide. In our programs, we always include what is called WASH which means Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. This is done through the design and construction of child-friendly and gender sensitive facilities for sanitation, such as latrines and hand-washing stations. We also provide clean water supply by building water wells and raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.
My Story
POLLUTED WATER IS NOT JUST DIRTY — IT IS DEADLY! Over thousands of people in rural communities in the Northern and Eastern Regions of Ghana are currently without access to safe drinking water. Here at Asieduah Cares Foundation, we understand the pain they go through daily. We are proud to have created such an important program that is the ACF Rural Water Mission. This mission is aimed at providing at least ten (10) Boreholes for at least ten (10) rural communities for the start. Poverty and Inadequacy of social support such as water supply has contributed to the people developing poor hygiene. Poor hygiene which often accompanies certain mental or emotional disorders, including severe depression and psychotic disorders. Common in these communities is Dementia which is also caused by Poor Hygiene. This project will improve the quality of life for families. Water borne diseases which is very common in these areas, will be a thing of the past. This project will decrease/minimize the daily burden of women and children travelling long distances to collect water from streams which are most of the time not clean or safe for human consumption.
