About the Cause
Poor health and nutrition negatively affect children’s school attendance and ability to learn. We implement school feeding programs that look for alternative ways to ensure sustainable supply of nutritious foods to school children and young people in urban and marginalized areas.
In addition, contaminated water and poor sanitation are big factors that result in the death of children worldwide. In our programs, we always include what is called WASH which means Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. This is done through the design and construction of child-friendly and gender sensitive facilities for sanitation, such as latrines and hand-washing stations. We also provide clean water supply by building water wells and raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.
My Story
My name is Alex Kaujja, a social worker and community development worker. For over 8 years now i have been involved in humanitarian aid projects where so many philanthropic activities have been carried ranging from sponsoring education for the needy, empowering women economically and teaching young people skills to help them make incomes as they help with sustaining their households. However, the coming of the pandemic has been a big brawl to all our activities hence rendering us inactive and handcuffed to even help the least affected. I have seen people set themselves ablaze, men abandon their families all because they can't afford to sustain their families and so they feel that ending their lives or running away from their responsibilities will solve the problems that they are facing. However, this instead has caused more problems with those abandoned especially the women and children. These are left behind to starve to death or if they are lucky enough could have a meal in two days. Seeing this happen left me with a broken heart and is the reason I'm here to share about the need to raise funds so we can feed over 1000 households for a period of 21 days. We are not sure when the situation will calm down but we are hopeful your help could help us restore hope among those that have lost it and also save lives of those planning to end their lives just because they can't find food for their loved ones. In March and April through my charity Organization we were able to give food to over 250 households through friends and well wishers. I believe that through this fundraising we get another opportunity to feed more starving people for some days as we pray to God to calm down the situation so people can have their normal lives back.
