About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:
Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.
Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.
Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.
My Story
Appeal for School Feeding Program. At FFAD, we know education is the key in helping poverty stricken families get back on their feet. Unfortunately, hunger in Uganda is deprived children of this opportunity. We would love the opportunity of partnering with your charity and sponsoring Dilemma: Ugandan school hunger Uganda's climate is no longer dependable with dry spells, unpredictable rains, and flooding hitting agriculture. Worst hit are the poor who are already marginalized as well as rural schools that generate their food. Most households are unable to afford food at the household level hence hunger's effects at the school levels. This report reveals that children go to school weakened and distracted, causing them to withdraw. Teachers blame malnourishment as a major contributor to absentsism and poor grades. Schools also lose pupils most especially orphans and girls , with learning opportunities declining by the day. We have worked with some of the world's leading humanitarian organizations, including: Muslim Charity ,SKT Welfare, a Muslim organization, provides relief and nutrition to refugees in crises. وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَى حُبِّهِ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا(Surah Al-Insan, 76:8)."And they give food, in spite of their love for it, to the needy, the orphan, and the captive. Dearest Muslim brothers and sisters, we ask you for your charity. Aid us to feed the poor. It could transform hunger into hope and bring dignity again. May Allah reward every hand that gives with abundance and barakah.
