About the Cause
Poor health and nutrition negatively affect children’s school attendance and ability to learn. We implement school feeding programs that look for alternative ways to ensure sustainable supply of nutritious foods to school children and young people in urban and marginalized areas.
In addition, contaminated water and poor sanitation are big factors that result in the death of children worldwide. In our programs, we always include what is called WASH which means Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. This is done through the design and construction of child-friendly and gender sensitive facilities for sanitation, such as latrines and hand-washing stations. We also provide clean water supply by building water wells and raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.
My Story
For the last 5 years, I am working as an educational practitioner at the various states in India supporting rural schools by improving learning outcomes through various child-centered initiatives. I received an offer letter from UCL Institute of Education, a premier research institute for education and teaching. The UCL Institute of Education is the top-ranked institution for education and training according to Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings since 2015. UCL has produced 29 Nobel laureates in various scientific fields so far. The university will charge me £ 18120 a year in tuition fees and £ 13208 for other expenses, such as food and accommodation, for the next three years. Over the next three years, approximately £ 93984 will be spent. (1) During my second year, I will have the opportunity to become a part-time faculty member of the Institute. This will allow me to manage my food and accommodation (£ 26416). (2) I will be able to raise another £ 10,000 through family contributions. Therefore, I lack a total of £ 57568. Being a first-generation graduate in the family I am not able to finance the required amount. There is no doubt that the entire globe is experiencing a crisis at the moment. There are still many people who are unable to access resources to meet their needs. Still, I urge everyone to consider your contribution and support in creating more equitable educational opportunities for every child in India and around the world.
