About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ Walk for Education is a symbolic three kilometer walk that aims to highlight one of the challenges children face in acquiring quality education in developing countries where they have to walk an average of three kilometers every day in order to go to school. We have so far organized 10 editions of the “Walk for Education”
My Story
We are Dubai American Academy's inaugural chapter of the National Honor Society. The NHS works on a foundation of four principles: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Every year we provide the chance for members to propose service initiatives to be lead primarily by students. This fun run is not only a charity fundraiser, but it is also a community event and encourages activity and fitness. One of our foci this year for the NHS is the environment, so we chose to raise awareness about electronic waste as it is not as well-known an issue as it could be.
