About the Cause

Poor health and nutrition negatively affect children’s school attendance and ability to learn. We implement school feeding programs that look for alternative ways to ensure sustainable supply of nutritious foods to school children and young people in urban and marginalized areas.

In addition, contaminated water and poor sanitation are big factors that result in the death of children worldwide. In our programs, we always include what is called WASH which means Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. This is done through the design and construction of child-friendly and gender sensitive facilities for sanitation, such as latrines and hand-washing stations. We also provide clean water supply by building water wells and raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.

My Story

My journey towards advocating for children with special needs in the seven emirates and those affected by the Gaza war is deeply intertwined with my commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1: Zero Hunger and SDG 2: Good Health and Well-being. As I reflect on my personal experiences and the broader global landscape, I am compelled to take action to address the urgent needs of these vulnerable populations, aligning with the mission of the United Nations Humanitarian Affairs. From an early age, I was instilled with the belief that every individual deserves access to basic necessities, including nutritious food and essential healthcare. However, my awareness of the stark disparities faced by children with special needs in accessing these fundamental rights deepened as I witnessed the challenges and barriers they encounter on a daily basis. In the context of the seven emirates, despite significant progress in economic development and infrastructure, there remains a gap in ensuring that all children, including those with special needs, have access to adequate nutrition and healthcare services. These disparities not only perpetuate cycles of poverty and exclusion but also undermine the fundamental principles of human dignity and equality. Similarly, the devastating impact of the Gaza war has exacerbated existing vulnerabilities, particularly among children with special needs who are disproportionately affected by conflict-related violenc
