About the Cause

Gender equality is a cross-cutting theme in all Dubai Cares’ education programs with an approach that aims to secure equal access for boys and girls to safe learning environments with adequate facilities, materials and academic support from gender sensitized teachers and communities.

My Story

Schools give basic education and a lot of input is expected to be given at home by the parents. This includes the buying of workbooks for homework and special guidance over school work. This is ok for children from normal homes. For refugee children and those from destitute parents such materials are not available. Moreover such parents can not afford to hire tutors to guide their children with schoolwork at home. As a result these children do poorly at school. At times they get sexually molested when they try to get this help from neighbours. This centre will be a safe haven for such children as it will have the needed materials and trustworthy tutors.
