About the Cause
Dubai Cares’ programs are designed to reduce, if not remove, the greatest obstacles that prevent children and young people in developing countries from attaining quality education. With each intervention, Dubai Cares evaluates the need for assistance across two key areas:
Access to Education which allows Dubai Cares to improve children’s health and learning environment, increase education enrollment and attainment, increase access to education, reduce absenteeism, increase gender parity and increase promotion rates.
Quality of Education which enables early learning, enhances educational attainment and school progression, improves literacy and numeracy skills among children, enables teachers to access teacher training resulting in better learning outcomes, reduce dropout rates and increase primary school attainment.
Dubai Cares is a long-term advocate of safeguarding children and young people’s right to education and is currently playing a global advocacy role in spreading the knowledge about the importance of providing education to the unprivileged children.
We also champion education through research - There is an overwhelming lack of evidence as to what works to promote children’s learning in crisis-affected contexts. Research plays a pivotal role in tackling this issue.
My Story
Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing with a heavy heart to seek urgent humanitarian support for my elderly parents in Bangladesh. My father, Mr. Shahab Uddin (70), is a survivor of two severe strokes that caused speech loss and partial paralysis. Recent CT scan reports confirmed brain atrophy and multiple infarcts. My mother, Ms. Rabeya (71), is suffering from Grade-I Diastolic Dysfunction (heart failure). Both of them require continuous cardiac and neurological treatment, lifelong medications, and specialized medical care that I can no longer afford. We live in a severely damaged house in Kotiadi, Kishoreganj. The leaking roof and unsafe environment have become life-threatening for heart and stroke patients, especially during the monsoon season. I work full-time as a Pattern Assistant in a factory, but my small salary is completely exhausted by medicine and daily survival costs. I sold personal belongings, including my bicycle and furniture, and borrowed from neighbors, yet I still cannot continue treatment or repair our collapsing home. We urgently need support for medical treatment, life-saving medicines, and emergency shelter repair. I have attached medical reports, employment proof, and photographs for verification. Your kindness and compassion could help save my parents’ lives and give them safety, dignity, and hope again.
