About the Cause
Poor health and nutrition negatively affect children’s school attendance and ability to learn. We implement school feeding programs that look for alternative ways to ensure sustainable supply of nutritious foods to school children and young people in urban and marginalized areas.
In addition, contaminated water and poor sanitation are big factors that result in the death of children worldwide. In our programs, we always include what is called WASH which means Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. This is done through the design and construction of child-friendly and gender sensitive facilities for sanitation, such as latrines and hand-washing stations. We also provide clean water supply by building water wells and raise awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.
My Story
My story is a typical Dubai story; I moved from the UK at the beginning of 2015 because I was given the opportunity to earn more money and advance in my career faster. This opportunity has put myself, and my family, in a fortunate position and I would like to start to repay that good fortune. I believe that there are many of us in Dubai (and beyond), who would like to share their good fortune and help those who are not so fortunate. Perhaps a lot of the time its simply not knowing how best to get involved in charity, who to donate to, how much to donate... This donation model is scalable and we are ambitious. We would like to like to reach employee contract and company formation level - where an individual/ company can opt into our initiative. We have a some way to go, but if the cause is great enough so should the effort. 1% of our income/ profits is a relatively small amount. 1% of the collective income of a country is change for millions. Dubai is a city of superlatives; the tallest, the fastest, the most expensive... (the list goes on). But would there be a greater accolade than; the first city to introduce systematic charity. That's legacy.
