About the Cause
My Story
A friend trapped in a foreign land, burdened by insurmountable debt, and haunted by the loss of loved ones they couldn't even properly mourn. For the past three years, my friend has been unable to work. Their visa has long expired, a silent testament to their desperate struggle to survive. The weight of debt, accumulated over years of hardship, has crippled them. Every day is a constant battle against despair, a relentless struggle to find a way out of this suffocating situation. They lost beloved family members, leaving a gaping hole in their heart and a profound sense of grief. But even in their deepest sorrow, they were denied the solace of mourning properly. The crushing weight of debt and the expired visa have effectively banned them from leaving the country, preventing them from returning home to lay their loved ones to rest. This situation has not only taken a devastating toll on mental and emotional well-being but has also shattered their sense of dignity and hope. They are invisible, a ghost in a foreign land, unable to contribute to society and denied the basic human right to return home. But they are not alone. They are part of a growing community of individuals facing similar hardships, trapped in a cycle of poverty and despair. We can break this cycle. We can help them find their way back.
