My Story

The idea and formation of YADAF was solely conceived by the Founder; Hajiya Fatima Bature Jikan-Dan-uwa, who also doubles as the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation. The passion of the CEO in setting up the Foundation stems from an early childhood experience that involves a very close sibling who was a victim of substance use at an early age. His condition degenerated because the required early “ drug response ” was absent, thus, transforming his situation to a “ lost one”. Born and brought up in the Northern city of Kano State Nigeria, she abandoned her Mass Communication Discpiline and ventured into Humanitarian work through her Foundation. Her passion for the Foundation equally stems from the sheer number of drug users in her immediate environment and the absence of requisite drug responce due to overstretched available Government Institutions. In the course of her work at the Foundation, she is asisted by her Technical and Strategic partners and a team of dedicated and hardworking volunteers who make-up the management team.
